Martin Lentz

Martin was born in Hamburg and played as a cellist and double-bass player in various youth orchestras before he began to study at the musichighschool of „Franz Liszt“ in Weimar. Quite early he collected experiences as a conductor and took over the management of the „juvenile division orchestra of the music and art school of Jena“ in the fourth semestre. Parallel to that Martin Lentz began a study of conducting at Prof. Frischmuth in Jena. It followed the foundation of the „Landesverband Thüringen der Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland“ and the acting school management of the music and art school of Jena. Beside that Martin Lentz is involved as a guest lecturer of different courses with the „Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland“. In December, 2004 he got in touch with the „Barenboim-Said foundation“ for which he efforts very intensely as an adviser of the music training programme since 2005.

His attachment with the new music is reflected in a row of premieres of Siegfried Müller, Concertino for piano and small orchestra (UA), Thilo Jaques, „Schwarz / weiß"(UA), Matti Murto, Violinconcert (DEA), E. Rautavaara" The True And The False Unicorn“ (DEA).

In all areas, from opera to musical, old music to Crossover educational to professional projects, Martin Lentz was and is engaged till this day. An example of it are the cooperation projects directed by him of the STÜBA philharmonic with Clueso, the Blue Beans Big Band with the Jenaer philharmonic and the youth orchestra of the music and art school of Jena with the Jenaer philharmonic.

Since 2012 the fourfold father is the leader of the „Youth Symphony Orchestra Bremen-Mitte“ with which he already undertook concert tours through all of Europe and led projects like the „International Youth Symphony Orchestra“.
